Originally built circa 1850 this beautiful detached Victorian gentleman's residence has recently been fully restored. Located in a stunning, picturesque rural setting on the edge of Bodmin Moor in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Farmhouse enjoys lovely views out over the countryside and is set in 2.5 acres of grounds including open lawns, landscaped gardens and delightful woodland areas bordering fields at the edge of the grounds.

 

The property has 5 large bedrooms, 2 of which have en suite bathrooms. All of the beds and mattresses are brand new and include memory foam toppers. Four King size beds and twin singles with "hotel style" Egyptian cotton bedding and white fluffy towels included for peak summer weeks and offered @ £12.50 per person in middle and low season. There is a spacious family bathroom with a wonderfully large and deep roll top bath.

 

The Farmhouse has a large country kitchen with an island and includes a traditional Aga range cooker. All of the other appliances including induction hob cooker with extractor hood, dishwasher and microwave are new. The kitchen is adjacent to the dining area, which contains a huge dining table capable of seating 10 comfortably. A utility area adjoins the other end of the kitchen and contains newly installed washing machine and tumble dryer.

 

The comfortable sitting room has a large wood-burning stove and also a 49 inch 4k HD Internet TV with access to Netflix, Amazon, and BBC I player etc for warm and cosy nights in. The property retains many original features including Victorian tiled hallway, Victorian fireplaces, and exposed granite walls and large locally sourced slate flagstones.

 

The interior design is modern with an industrial feel complimenting the era of the property. Soft furnishing, luxurious beds and mood lighting all ensure the home comforts expected from a Boutique style hotel experience.

 

There is plenty of parking for multiple cars once you have entered the property via the 5 bar gate. Access to the property is from a dead end lane often used by ponies, cattle and sheep as they amble down to the stream to drink. The property is blissfully quiet and there are many countryside walks nearby. 

 

There is a delightful south facing front courtyard garden beyond which are 2.5 acres of beautiful landscape gardens including an ornamental pond and extensive woodland on a sheltered edge of Bodmin Moor. A great, secure environment for dogs and children to explore. There is also a new 14-foot trampoline with safety netting located in the grounds. 

 

The property is excellently located for easy access to a new junction on the recently extended A30, just 6 minutes drive over Bodmin Moor for exploring both the North and South Cornwall coastline.

 

The nearest beach on the North Coast is Trebarwith Strand, a popular beach loved by families and has a seasonal shop and cafe. Dogs are allowed all the year around. Polzeath, the renowned surfing beach resort, Daymer Bay and Rock are all within easy access. Rock is the centre for many water sports including sailing, waterskiing, windsurfing and kite surfing. The Tor Passenger Ferry will take you across the estuary to Padstow, with all its culinary delights and celebrity chefs. On the South Coast, is Polkerris Beach, a pretty sandy cove, perfect for families overlooking St Austell Bay. Par Sands Beach, a large sandy beach is recommended for it's excellent water quality.

 

The Moor itself with its imposing granite tors and vast expenses of breathtaking scenery is the perfect place for walking and hiking. One of the most popular trails in the country, the Camel Trail, starts nearby in neighbouring village of St Breward and will take you to Wadebridge and then onto Padstow. Cycle, walk or horse ride - the choice is yours. There are a host of other local attractions close by including the Bodmin and Wenford steam railway, historic houses and gardens to visit, a Donkey Sanctuary and a Leisure Park. With the main road through Cornwall (A30) so close at hand, it means the moor is the perfect central place for getting around the county.

Dogs welcomed @ £25 per dog - maximum 2 dogs please. Hire Linen and Towels (not beach towels) for up to 10 guests are  now included with all bookings. If your party has 11 or 12 guests there is an additional fee of £12.50 per guest for guests 11 and 12 for linen and for the 2 additional camp beds.  There is a charcoal BBQ for guests to use, please bring your own charcoal. We supply a  Welcome pack and a 'starter pack' of kindling, fire lighters and logs, you will need to purchase more logs etc during your stay.
