Places to visit and things to do locally - Rock, Polzeath and Trebetherick

To help you enjoy your holiday with West Country Beach Holidays we've put together a (fairly) comprensive list of places to vist and things to do, both on the water and ashore. Most of these are within easy reach of your self catering holiday property in Rock, Polzeath or Trebetherick but they will also work if you are staying a little further away. All information was correct at the time of writing, but of course things do change, and we will endeavour to make regular updates.

Ten of our favourite places to visit

Eden Project is only 35 mins from Polzeath. Eden is truly in Cornwall – this stunning environment will take your breath away. As well as being fascinating and awe-inspiring for adults, children absolutely adore it here – there is so much to do, take a whole day to do it justice. The food in the restaurants is absolutely wonderful – and so is the service. Tel 01726 811911.

The Minack Theatre 01736 810181 / 810694 / 810471 – an extraordinary out-door theatre built into the cliffs and looking straight out to sea. 1 hr 15 mins from Polzeath, but well worth a visit. www.minack.com

St Ives 01736 796226  – for the beautiful Tate Gallery and it’s café which serves delicious food and has breath-taking views. An hour away, but again, well worth the drive. www.tate.org.uk/stives

Port Isaac – During the summer season, go down on Thursday evenings to hear The Silver band playing in the village and on Friday evenings to hear The Fisherman’s Friends singing on The Platt. Go any time to eat and enjoy the atmosphere of this unique fishing village.

St Endellion Music Festival - brings together a wide range of exciting musicians from all over the world for its summer and Easter festivals. www.endellion.org.uk

Eglos Pottery - on the Bodmin road just outside Wadebridge for exquisite ceramics made by Penny McBreen.
