Wavecrest East side Beach House in New Polzeath - Stunning Beachside location with sea views, garden and easy walk to Polzeath village.

Wavecrest is over 100 years old and has been refurbished over the years, so as to have been updated, but not comprehensively modernised. It retains some period charm of a family house in a beautiful setting.

Self catering on the North Cornwall Coast with amazing beach, surf and sea views in New Polzeath. Wavecrest East side sleeps 4-6 in 2 bedrooms. There is 1 family bathroom on the first floor, a newly refurbished ground floor shower room and a new bath + basins in the master bedroom.

Access to the master bedroom with its own new bath and basins is through the dorm room (which has 1 double bed and 3 single beds),  and the family bathroom is accessed from the dorm room, so we reccommend that the guests using these 2 bedrooms are all from the same family unit. The kitchen has a dining table as well as the larger dining table overlooking the beach in the bay window of the 'L' shaped living room. There is a log burner in the living room , French doors + stunning sea and beach views.

Bed linen for the beds and bath mats are supplied, but please bring your own tea towels, bath towels and beach towels . If you wish to use the 4'6 double sofa bed in the living room please bring your own linen, bedding and towels for this.

Dogs, (max 2) are welcomed, there is a fee of £30 per dog per week payable directly to the owner. We ask please that you do not allow dogs on furniture and furnishings, in the bedrooms, or leave them unattended in the house .

If both interconnecting wings  (East side and West side) are rented together a max of 12 guests (+ a further 2-4 in the Lodge, the self contained annex) can be accommodated.

"There is a lot to love about this cottage, but a few drawbacks as well. The location is perfection. At the far north end of Polzeath, completely quiet but still within walking distance to the busier parts, overlooking the secluded northern part of the beach that is cut-off from the larger beach in high tide, and the coastal path LITERALLY at the gate. While the villages of Polzeath and Rock aren't very picturesque themselves, the coast and ports/villages in the area around Polzeath are some of the most beautiful in all of England. The cottage itself was perfectly clean on arrival and the easy parking and the enclosed shared garden and larger open garden to the front are a real bonus. There is plenty of space inside and outside for 6 people. The kitchen is the best room in the house, very up-to-date, spacious, and well-fitted. All that said, much of the furniture, fixtures, and most of the rest of the rooms in the cottage are quite dated or are not very user-friendly (I think what the description calls "quirky"). For example, what used to be the obvious primary "wet" entrance at the back of the cottage with all of the coat racks and hooks is now permanently closed. While the only remaining entrance does have a large, convenient tiled entryway, there is not a single rack or hook for a coat, umbrella, or towel to be found there, they are all still around the other side of the cottage where the old "wet" entry used to be. It is just little things like this that make you think that that a little updating and a little extra thought into the layout could turn this from a 4 star cottage to a 5 star cottage. Overall, I would certainly recommend the cottage, just be prepared to be frustrated by a few things. "
